20 Jun When non-fiction rules: a professional space to learn about documentaries
As part of this summer’s program, the Menorca Film Festival will devote several activities to film professionals. This 3rd edition’s highlight will be the DocuLab Professional Conference, on Friday, July 20 at the Casino Mahonés (Maó), where attendees will be able to participate in round table discussions as well as presentations and workshops with acclaimed representatives from the documentary film industry. From 10 am to 7 pm, professionals such as Sumpta Ayuso, Carles Sora, Ruben Casas Oche, Elena Mera, Toni Escandell, Carles Bosch, Joan Gonzalez (DocsBarcelona), Bernat Manzano and Joan Bover will share their knowledge in this field. They will cover subjects such as new documentary formats; the documentary in the Balearic Islands; how to produce, distribute and promote a documentary, or how to raise funding, among others.
The registration fee for this event (10 euros) can be processed from this link.
In addition, #SomLab will also offer two activities that will take place in Can Saura (Ciutadella). The first will be held on Tuesday 17 and will feature a dialogue between the Festival’s jury and this year’s participating directors. The other will take place on Wednesday 18 and will present the program AccióViver – Dones Visuals, a vermouth with Anna Petrus and Montse Majench.
