
Menorca Film Festival 2020 makes the call to present the short films that will compete in the official sections of the fifth edition
From this Monday to April 12th, 2020, audiovisual proposals can be presented in the Balearic and international sections. The theme of the works is totally free. But those that are of a social and environmental nature will be positively valued, following the line of sustainability launched last year. And that this year is consolidated with the commitment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Official sections
Competition short films that are made by people resident or born in the Balearic Islands, can be registered in the Balears en Curt section. In this same call there is a place for works shot in the Islands for people of any origin. To register, for free, you can go to the Filmfreeway platform or fill out the form attached to the rules.
The basic requirements are:
- that the duration of the audiovisual work does not exceed 20 minutes
- it was shot between 2018 and 2020.
- have subtitles in Spanish in case it has been filmed in any other language.
- documentary proposals, fiction of real image and animation are accepted.
These same requirements apply to works submitted in the international and national section of Illes en Curt. The difference is the origin of the works, which cannot be filmed in the Islands or be carried out by people resident or born in the Balearic Islands. In this case, the registration will be made exclusively through the Filmfreeway platform, with a cost of 5 euros.

Dissemination and awards
The works presented in the official section of the fifth edition of the Menorca Film Festival are eligible for a prize of 700 euros in cash, an award designed by Minorcan artists and the pre-selection of the work to be screened at the Filmets Badalona Film Festival .
